Your role at Mapiq
Your role at Mapiq
You will join our design team of 3 that makes a big impact on our company. That means we do a broad set of design activities ranging from brand to product for which we collaborate closely with other disciplines like development, data-science, marketing, customer success and support. As a Lead Product Designer you’ll bring the team across the whole user journey that we support with our products. You are the one that keeps track on aligning the business goals with a product strategy, which results in a successful business and happy customers. Mapiq will be scaling-up for the coming years and managing this growth is an important part of your role as a team lead. Here’s what you’ll do:
- Set up a structure that optimizes supply and demand in the design team; like updating processes and coordinate this work approach with the other teams
- Advise our management, explore ways to strengthen our position in the market and find new opportunities for Mapiq
- You monitor the schedule so the Product Designers can take care of making beautiful and functional designs
- Coach the team in their personal development and further build on the position of the design team within Mapiq. That might also mean growing the team
- Occasionally jump in when extra hands are needed
About you
Who are we looking for?
We try to keep it realistic, but if we have to describe our perfect candidate it would be someone with 6+ years of experience in Digital Product Design, and 3+ years of experience in leading a team of Product Designers, who understands SaaS and stands behind our mission to build great places to work.
- This isn’t the first time you’ve faced these challenges. Probably your portfolio showcases your interaction design, prototyping and user research skills
- You have experience with our design tool; Figma
- Obviously, you are a supportive and enthusiastic team lead!
- Good at overseeing complex systems. You know how to create a good experience for users across the entire customer journey and by means of various devices
- You are highly interested in human behavior and what impact technology can have on people
- You like to use data to support your strategic decisions for the design team
- You are available for 36–40 hours per week, remotely combined with visiting our (new) office in Delft
- And authorized to work in The Netherlands.
We are working in an industry that is going sky high, and we wouldn’t be able to keep up without the talented people we have at Mapiq. We always strive to hire people that bring their own ideas, background and culture to raise the bars with us.
