The Digital Society School conducts applied research on innovative interactive media applications together with partners from the creative industries and education. The focus of all research projects is the innovative character of the digital applications.

What will you do?

You are experienced with or intend to develop your skills regarding user-centred design. Not only are you a thinker, but also a doer and you flourish in multidisciplinary team. Turning concepts into prototypes is your thing, but also reflecting upon results in relation to the societal challenge. You will work closely with different stakeholders and together you will come up with tools, prototypes and solutions for a societal challenge. Together with the city of Amsterdam and its citizens we will design for societal impact. We aim to create solutions for the society of tomorrow and to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

You work in a multidisciplinary team guided by experts from the industry and the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. These experts are a mix of designers, programmers, social/digital media experts, researchers, copywriters and storytellers. In twenty weeks (one semester) your team develops a working prototype in collaboration with your client. The program is in English and available to all students, recent graduates and mid-careers.
